The John Robb has been at the bottom of the water since the early 1900’s. As you can probably imagine, the wreck has weathered a bit since then. Consequently, there’s not much of it left to see. What is left however is still a great site for poking around and seeing a bit of history.

The colours of the sponges growing on the wreck are very vibrant, and the number of fish for such a small site is amazing.

Everyone loves an excuse to pull on a costume and release the monster within. Just in time for Halloween, David’s 21st party was a super show — an eye-opening selection of outfits and some fantastic people. A great night had by all.

While the weather forecast predicted doom and gloom, greater forces seemed to be at work, and kept all the rain away, replacing it with sunshine and blue skies.

Everyone was in a great mood, although the nerves were starting to show as the big moment crept closer. But in the end, everything went to plan and the day was a huge success. Congratulations Ange & Chris! You couldn’t have asked for a better day.

Another perfect Autumn day, and a delight to be outside in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. Patrick and the girls had a great time wandering around the gardens, looking at the plants, smelling the flowers and watching the ducks.

The South Australian Maritime Museum is home to the largest collection of ship’s figureheads in the Southern Hemisphere. Many of the figureheads are on display to the public and provide a beautiful look back at the history of maritime design.

Some are in near-perfect condition, while a few are a little worse for wear after spending a number of years gracing private gardens. Below are some of my favourites.

HMAS PARRAMATTA visited Adelaide during the fourth week of August, and I was fortunate enough to get an offer to come onboard and take some photos of the ship and its equipment. My first time on an ANZAC-class — it looks big on the outside, but its pretty tight on the inside.

The day turned out perfectly weatherwise, so it was a great opportunity to try out some HDR imaging.

I had the pleasure today of a photo session with Sandy and her two boys at a park in Tea Tree Gully. It was great fun with the kids running around, although the creek proved to be a bit more of a hit than we’d really hoped for. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and the location provided beautiful colours and backdrops.
