Whyalla Cuttlefish Migration

Every year beginning in June, the giant Australian cuttlefish begin their migration to the frigid waters of Whyalla in South Australia. The purpose of their visit is to reproduce, and once you arrive there, that’s all you’ll see — cuttlefish doing their thing!

The cuttlefish are extremely gentle and intelligent creatures, and during the mating season, they’re not concerned with anything, or anyone around them. The displays they put on are simply stunning, with colours rippling through their bodies while they float around in the shallows.
